(Re)Branding – Is it the Mantra for Success?

Though the brand name is not the only criterion to attain the success in marketing a product, it definitely plays a crucial role in the success of the product i.e. to say more or less, the branding renders a pulsating value to the product. On the same lines, it’s quite apt to say that ‘Branding is not everything but adds to everything’!

Actually a brand name to any product has got a promotional value in marketing. It aims in attracting the common man’s attention and thus helps in consumerism to a huge extent. In the process companies come up with many strategies to survive in the huge competition. One such is Rebranding. It’s more or less similar to ‘OLD WINE IN A NEW BOTTLE.

Companies come up with some new eye-catchy tag lines, added advantages, new policies, schemes and various other stuff so that they keep their customers intact, according to the changing times and needs. If one takes the stance of the present marketing world, one can say without any discrepancy that the branding or to be more precise, rebranding has become a concomitant thing along with the product.

It’s basically a human tendency to look up for the different things and it is obvious in the current trend of brand advertising. One can take the instances of Hindustan Unilever Ltd., which sports a tagline, ‘Adding Vitality to Life’; Canara Bank uses a tagline called ‘Together We Can’; Citi-Bank imbibes its name in its tagline ‘The Citi never sleeps’, likewise we can enumerate various examples.

Similarly Color Branding is the latest marketing gimmick that is being followed these days by several banks to give them a unique distinction among their customers. One can take the examples of banks like Canara (Corporate Blue), ICICI (Orange), Axis (Red), etc..., which depict their ambitions and interests.

Bottom-Line:

Not only in the marketing world, but also in the world of showbiz, the rebranding can be predominantly visible. In a nutshell, one can say that the main motive behind this process of (re)branding is to reach more people and keep the customers intact. Also one can question one’s inner psyche that is this phenomenon has become a proclivity in the subsisting world where there is an ardor for achieving success!
