In order to coincide with the 26 January 1930 Lahore resolution of "Poorna Swaraj", this day in 1950 was declared the day of "Republic" in the history of independent India. That was the day on which the sacrosanct to our nation's ruling, "Indian Constitution" came into effect though it was adopted on 26th of November 1949 (S. Preamble).
Today it's 64th Republic Day and still our constitution holds the highest order, which only shows why India is the world's successful and largest democracy despite several odds in the form of diversity, internal & external threats and more.
